Rotterdam is also called the Gateway of Europe, and given
the importance one of the busiest ports in the world. In 2010
a total of 31,118 seagoing vessels entered the New Waterway.
Of the most special visiting ships, Cees de Keijzer and Hans
Roodenburg produced the book 'Splendid ships and jobs in the
port of Rotterdam'. A successful issue, because a lot of information
is given on the vessels which visited the harbour.
Seventy four vessels are described and there is also a selection
of a dozen of the thousands of different jobs in the Rotterdam
harbour. The beautifully printed book was made possible in
co-operation with the World Ship Society, Rotterdam Branch.
Due to continuous demand for an English edition, next to the
Dutch issue, the English version titled 'Splendid ships in
the port of Rotterdam' is now available.
